  i found an article today that discusses the new batman movie.

  growing up, i remember the batman and robin tv show from the 1960's, and i assumed that the dark knight movies would be along the same lines.

  just thought i would share another hurdle over in the road to recovery from dubdom.

  i now sport a fashionable, neatly trimmed goatee and i do not worry about bumping into jw's.

  took me over 2 years to crack that one..... now as mine looks exactly like sparlocks (grey too), does anyone know where i can get a hat like his??

  a 25 year old relative of mine was being stalked last week by an older woman.

  the police were involved and the perpetrator arrested.. as it was the convention and his uber zealous, hypocritical mother- aka my sister, was going to be absent from home i called to see how he was doing.

  in the course of the conversation i referred to 50 shades of grey' (the stalker had fantasised about him being mr grey).

  She sounds exactly how my sister responded when I had the hide to send a relative a birthday gift.

  She says she's responding on behalf of the 3 of them but I'm quite sure it's just her that's been offended. You have to remember how uptight the JWs are about sex. What we might think is normal conversation between 2 adults is considered vulgar and disgusting by these sexually repressed brainwashed JWs.

  Ignore her note and when talking to your nephew next, just suggest that he be more discreet in what he discusses with his mother.

  i've met a girl online and she gave me her number.

  i got my nerves up to call her and we talk for about 30 minutes.

  she ended by telling me i could call her anytime.

  I'm still at a disbelief that I'm 29 and I'd never had a relationship with a women.

  When I left the JWs, I was in the same position although I was a woman and had never been on a proper date with a guy.

  i'm at my wits end.. here's some background:.

  i grew p in a congregation in california, i'm not a born in, though i was raised in it from 5 - about 20. arond 20 i pretty mch faded out, bt the emotional ups and downs were jst all too much.

  Whoa...

  Too much, too soon. Just stick to ONE topic and ask her questions which she needs to answer.

  Deliver the information as though you're questioning things and need her assistance to help you understand why the WTS said XYZ.

  Expect her to be defensive. So be kind in how you ask your questions and in showing her the information you've come across. You can't just rip the rug from under her feet and expect her to thank you for it.

  You're doing well. Just keep the subjects light and non-controversial.

  And having female friends that "just want to be friends" are valuable friends - they might have a friend or sister who you might click with instead.

  And NEVER give up!

  Just remember he's acting out of the brainwashing, it's not his authentic self that is saying this.

  Hang in there, and as jamiebowers said, make sure you have a good circle of friends (even one or two good friends are better than nothing) to surround yourself with.

  A happy life for a gay ex-JW

  in some of those posts ive mentioned that im gay, and in others ive referred to my wife and kids.
